These People are still wanted by the BiH Judiciary for the War Crimes in Sarajevo’s Veliki Park

Yesterday, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) acquitted the legendary commander Dragan Vikic in the “Veliki Park” case.

Apart from Commander Vikic, Jusuf Pusina, Nermin Uzunovic, and Mladen Covcic were acquitted of all charges of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

They were charged with crimes against the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) soldiers in April 1992, Avaz writes.

However, after the indictment was filed, in 2017 the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH asked the Court of BiH to issue an international red Interpol warrant for Nedzad Herenda, a member of the infamous “Seva” paramilitary formation, who is suspected of killing eight JNA members in Sarajevo’s Veliki Park.

Apart from Herenda, on March 20th, 2017, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, the Court of BiH issued a warrant for Edvin Jusic, who, along with Herenda, was also a suspect in this crime.

Jusic, a citizen of Sarajevo with a residence address in Frankfurt, is a former member of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of BiH (RBiH). Herenda lives in the Netherlands and Jusic in Germany.

However, both countries refused to extradite them in 2018. First Germany, then the Netherlands.

In March 2017, Jusic contacted journalists, claiming that he was ready to testify in the Court of BiH regarding the crimes in “Veliki Park”, but that his statement did not suit the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

On the other hand, Herenda allegedly agreed to be extradited to BiH, but with clear guarantees from BiH institutions that he would be safe in our country. However, it is obvious that many had no interest in his arrival before the BiH judiciary and solving political assassinations especially in revealing those who ordered the crimes committed by “Seva.”
