Third Pop-Up! Festival will bring interesting Lectures and Workshops

The third Student Communication Festival Pop-Up! Sarajevo will officially open on Thursday, October 19th at 7 p.m, in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts.

The exhibition will include a selection of guest lectures at this year’s festival.

The same night at 9:30 p.m. at Art Cinema Kriterion, Pecha Kucha night – a special form of short lectures to present local artists and designers, followed by a party in Kriterion, will be held.

In the following days, from October 20th to 21st, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Art Cinema Kriterion will host guest lectures of the festival guests. This year the guests of the festival are designers, photographers, typographers, strip artists and creators from the region and Europe: Hrvoje Zivcic (CRO) – typographer, Felix Hardmood Beck (GER) – designer, Bostjan Botas Kenda (SLO) – graphic designer, Zijah Gafic (BIH) – photographer, Emil Kozole (SLO) – graphic designer and typographer, Nikola Durek (CRO) – typographer, Stevan Subic (SRB) – strip artist and Ian Anderson (UK) – graphic designer.

Each guest will hold a one-hour lecture / presentation at Art Cinema Kriterion, where he will talk about his work and career.

Hrvoje Zivcic and Ian Anderson will also hold typography workshops with students in the premises of the Academy of Fine Arts. Stevan Subic will perform LiveArt6 – a special performance on Friday, October 20th, at 7 pm in Criterion, where you will have the opportunity to see live one of his great drawings – this work will be later offered at an auction for humanitarian purposes.

This Pop-Up! Sarajevo Festival is organized independently by students of the graphic design of the Academy of Fine Arts, which this year also prepared the rich content.

Entrance to all lectures and exhibitions is free.
