Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the biggest mining accident in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the accident in the “Dobrnja-jug” lignite mine in Mramor in which 180 miners lost their lives.

On this occasion, today the delegation of the “Kreka” Coal Mine d.o.o. – Tuzla will lay flowers and wreaths on the memorial in the vicinity of the “Dobrnja-jug” Mine, wanting to honor and remember the tragically lost miners.

According to the investigation of the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office since 2006, the main cause of this tragedy was the explosion of a cloud of coal dust, which was caused by improper blasting of the steel substructure.

The average age of the 180 miners who died was 27 years. It is the youngest company of miners in the mine, but the biggest tragedy that happened in the mines of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

No one was held responsible for this accident.
