Total loans in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by about three billion BAM in one year, and more than half of this amount is loans intended for the population, data on monetary movements of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina show.
As stated in these data, total loans to the domestic sectors at the end of January amounted to 28.76 billion BAM and compared to the previous month, an increase in loans of 69.9 million BAM (0.2%) was recorded.
“Credit growth was registered in the household sector by 54 million BAM (0.4%), in government institutions by 41.7 million BAM (2.7%) and in non-financial public enterprises by 21.4 million BAM (2.8%). A decrease in credit growth at the monthly level was registered in private enterprises by 27.4 million BAM (0.2%) and in other domestic sectors by 19.9 million BAM (4.9%). Annual growth rate of total loans in January It was 11.6%, nominally three billion BAM, in the year 2026. The annual growth of loans was registered in the household sector by BAM 1.59 billion (12.3%), in private companies by BAM 921.2 million (8.7%), in government institutions by BAM 310.7 million (24.3%), in non-financial public companies by BAM 110.6 million (16.2%) and in other domestic sectors by BAM 64.9 million (20.3%)”, the Central Bank stated Bosnia and Herzegovina.
