In the spirit of joy, togetherness and rich tradition, the traditional Easter egg painting was held in the courtyard of the Church of Christ the Savior in Banja Luka today, April 11.
Adriana Basara, authorized signatory of the Department for Family Care and Demography, emphasized that this event, which the City organizes every year in anticipation of Easter, once again showed how important it is to cultivate faith, culture and family values through socializing with the youngest and creating a warm festive atmosphere in the heart of the city.
“I am glad that we have gathered here with our fellow citizens to celebrate another Easter picnic. We welcome Easter together,” she said.
She emphasized how important it is to celebrate all major holidays together.
“We are here to support each other, to be together. To teach our youngest how to practice our customs. Thanks to numerous associations, but also cultural and artistic societies, which gladly support our activities, together we show how we celebrate our most important holidays,” she emphasized.
Mirko Arambašić, secretary of the Cultural and Artistic Society of Piskavica, emphasized that they are always happy to respond to all events organized by the City.
“We are one of the rare cultural and artistic societies that cherish our original creativity. We want to preserve it from oblivion. Here we present part of our tradition and culture, but we will also show the technique of decorating eggs with wax, painting in onion skins. We remain true to ourselves and are happy to respond to such events because we must preserve our tradition and culture from oblivion,” he said.
Slobodanka Ristić Gašić, president of the Humanitarian Association of Women “Duga”, emphasized that they have prepared a rich program this year as well.
“This year we will be handing out caretaker bags, talking about the Zmijanje Embroidery, coloring books inspired by the Zmijanje Embroidery, and socializing with our fellow citizens,” she pointed out.
