trebevicMayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komsic and representative of the Italian company Leitner signed an agreement on the main project, equipment delivery, installation and putting into operation of Trebevic cable car.

“Today is the day of signing the contract to formalize the start of construction and putting into operation of Trebevic cable car. This company got a job, it was cheaper. It is a great pleasure to formalize this contract, although some works are already behind us.

“The company will install the machines, with the correct project. We expect the opening to be next year, during the summer. It is unrealistic to say that it will take place on the 6th of April, because of all the work,” said Komsic.

From the company said that they are happy “to be selected for the project”.

“We are honored that we will be doing the work. We are looking forward to next year and gatherings on a cable car,” said Dominiko Bosio, a representative of the Italian company Leitner.

At the press conference was emphasized that a ride with the cable car, instead of 12 minutes – as it used to be, will now last for 7 minutes and 15 seconds. Also, there will be the most modern equipment that is also environmentally friendly, and panoramic gondolas will be used for 24 hours.

Also, a gondola will be set next week in front of the City Hall for citizens to see how it will look like.

With this agreement, as stated, works on the revitalization of Trebevic cable car, which started at the beginning of April this year, will be continued.
