In the Basic Court in Prijedor, the main trial continued today in the case against the head of the Hygiene and Epidemiological Service of the Prijedor Health Center, Milica Otković, due to the non-use of vaccines against Covid-19.

Judge Nebojša Manojlović read the response of the Ministry of Justice of the Republika Srpska to the question of the defense whether Biljana Stjepanović, who performed expert testimony in this proceeding and was examined as a prosecution witness, had the status and license of an expert witness at the time of the expert testimony on May 26, 2021, in which The Ministry of Justice stated that Stjepanović was appointed as an expert witness on February 9 of this year.

At today’s hearing, the prosecutor of the Prijedor District Public Prosecutor’s Office Sanja Đaković presented material evidence – a total of 98 documents, and the defense objected to the presented evidence.

The defendant’s defense attorney, lawyer Savan Zec, said that he sent a request to the Prijedor Health Center for the delivery of the documents needed for this court proceeding and that this morning he received all the requested documents except for two which, according to him, are crucial for the defense, and he will deal with the same with a request to the Health Center and the court in order to submit the missing acts.

Zec also stated that on two occasions he turned to the prosecution in order to get a USB stick with printouts of the temperature in cold mode and videos from the surveillance cameras that the prosecution cites in the evidence, but, as he said, the defense has not received them to date.

The next hearing is scheduled for October 25, when the defense will present material evidence.

The lawyer of the accused said today that he will not produce witnesses, that he will not engage experts and that he will not question the accused.

The Prijedor District Public Prosecutor’s Office accused the head of the Hygiene and Epidemiological Service of the Prijedor Health Center, Milica Otković, for not using 1,342 doses of the “Sputnjik ve” vaccine.

In the Prijedor Health Center on April 12, 2021, the vaccination of residents against Covid-19 was temporarily suspended, since the cold chain was interrupted due to a power outage, and the temperature in the freezer where the vaccines were stored was disturbed.
