Trump called NATO Allies ‘cowards’

President Donald Trump has attacked longtime NATO allies for their lack of support for the US-Israeli war against Iran, calling them “cowards”.

“Without the US, NATO is a paper tiger,” Trump said in a post on social media.

Trump has called on key US allies and others, none of whom were consulted or advised on the war, to help ensure the safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The conflict has roiled global markets, claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions since the US-Israeli attacks began on February 28.

The US president complained that NATO countries are unwilling to join the fight against Iran, and they continue to complain about high oil prices.

“Now that the battle has been won militarily with very little danger to them, they are complaining about the high oil prices they are being forced to pay, but they are unwilling to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the sole reason for high oil prices.” It is so easy for them to do it, with so little risk, the American leader wrote.

“Cowards, we will remember it too!”, he added.
