Former US President Donald Trump responded sharply to recent comments by US FBI Director Christopher Wray about his injury, saying he was hit by a bullet during an assassination attempt on July 13.
Trump’s response came after Wray’s testimony before Congress suggested there was uncertainty about whether Trump was hit by a bullet or shrapnel.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump, who is the Republican presidential candidate for the November election, criticized Wray for his comments about the assassination attempt on him, as well as for his remarks regarding President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.
“FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass or a bullet. No, unfortunately it was a bullet that hit my ear, and it hit it hard. There was no glass, no shrapnel. The hospital called it a bullet wound in the ear and that was it,” Trump said.
Wray testified during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, AA writes.
