US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that another US team had left for Gaza talks, expressing hope for a deal, Anadolu reported.
“We will certainly talk about Gaza. We are in very serious talks,” Trump said in the Oval Office alongside Mark Carney, the visiting Canadian prime minister.
“I think there is a possibility that we could have peace in the Middle East. It is something that goes beyond the Gaza situation. We want the hostages released immediately, etc. And so our team is there now, the other team just left,” Trump said.
He said that every country in the world had supported his 20-point Gaza ceasefire plan, which includes the release of all Israeli prisoners in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas and the reconstruction of Gaza.
“There is a real chance that we could do something,” he added.
