oprema_turska-2The Minister of Economy of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci, the FB&H Minister of Sport and Culture Salmir Kaplan, Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić and Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy Salih Fočo attended the delivery of equipment for the improvement of the working area at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature (Department for Oriental Philology) of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo.

The Agency for International Cooperation and Coordination of Turkey (TIKA) donated the equipment.

Minister Zeybekci recalled that Turkey and B&H are descendants of people who shared the same feelings in the same geographic area and are descendants of the same culture.

‘’The Ottoman Empire was a Turkish state, Bosnian state, Croatian state, Serbian state, Arab state. There were many people who found themselves together, many cultures and many languages. We spent around 550 years together, and after the Ottoman Empire we see here the monuments and history of that time’’, said Minister Zeybekci.

He recalled that B&H gave rise to 22 grand viziers, thousands of great rulers came from B&H, and hundreds of poets, architects and artists.

Minister Kaplan expressed hope that the visit of the Minister of Economy of Turkey would result in new projects that would be to the mutual satisfaction to B&H and Turkey, especially since Turkey is a member of the G20, and he stressed that Turkey’s presence in B&H is legitimate and logical.
