Turkish Pegasus arrives at another Airport in BiH

Low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines is negotiating the launch of its third destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and eighth in the former Yugoslavia.

The carrier is in negotiations for the introduction of flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Mostar, confirmed Marko Djuzel, director of the airport in Mostar. He expects a positive outcome in the coming weeks, stressing that these talks are the airport’s top priority.

In BiH, Pegasus Airlines currently maintains operations from Istanbul to Sarajevo, with a new weekly service from Turkey’s largest city to Tuzla to be launched on August 24th. It also maintains flights between Antalya and the capital of BiH.

Mostar Airport is served by Croatia Airlines from Zagreb, Air Serbia from Belgrade and SkyAlps from Bari, Munich, Rome and Verona, although the latter maintains operations only during the summer season.

”The airport currently has six regular lines, and Zagreb and Belgrade are all year round. I believe that in the next month we will be able to confirm four more new lines, so that next year we will have a total of ten,” said Djuzel.

He added that this year they expect about 40,000 passengers, while next year that number should rise to 60,000, which is close to the record of 2012 when 80,000 passengers were transported, Ex-Yu Aviation News reported.
