Tuzla might get an Indoor Salt Lake?

tuzla jezeraAccording to the vision of development of the Pannonian Lakes, Tuzla should get one indoor salt lake. Feasibility study will be made in the next period, and the indoor bathing capacity would enable the Public Utility Enterprise Pannonica Tuzla to generate additional income in the winter period.

According to the Director of this enterprise Maid Porobić, idea for one such projects has been existing for several years already.

“In addition to this, we have couple more ideas. In the coming period we will do the feasibility study and the decision might be reached next year,” Porobić said.

Current complex which started operating 13 years ago consists of three salt lakes which were made in 2003, 2009 and 2012, a neolith settlement, sport fields, salt waterfalls and several hospitality facilities.

The fourth outdoor salt lake with a capacity of up to 1.000 guests could also enrich the existing content of the complex in the future.

Since 2003, nearly three million guests visited this sport-recreational center. In the current bathing season, almost 250.000 visitors had the chance to enjoy the natural and healing water of the salt lakes.

This number of visitors, Porobić emphasized, is the half of the planned number for this year.

“The season officially lasts until August 31, and behind us is an unusual summer period with many rainy days and low temperatures. So far, we have only had some twenty sunny days with temperature above 30 degrees, which is a relatively successful season. I hope that by the end of this month and during September, which is supposed to be a nice and sunny month according to forecasts, we will somehow improve the result,” Porobić said.

When the official bathing season ends, prices of tickets will be amended. Therefore, guests of Pannonica Tuzla will pay much lower prices of tickets in September.
