Police officers from the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of the Tuzla Canton (TK), in cooperation with colleagues from the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) and the Republika Srpska (RS), detained two people suspected of a series of aggravated thefts, including burglaries of religious buildings, a pharmacy and private homes.

A.M. (1975) and Š.A. (1992) were arrested, who are suspected of committing six aggravated thefts in the Kladanj municipality from May 13, 2024 to February 12, 2025, including burglaries of two mosques, a mejlis, a pharmacy, a private home and the theft of fuel from a working machine.

The suspects are also linked to three burglaries of religious buildings in the ZDK area in February this year, and the police are investigating their connection to two more thefts in the RS area, where religious buildings were also targeted.

Based on the order of the Municipal Court in Živinice, police officers searched the residential building and the passenger vehicle used by the suspects on February 15. On that occasion, items related to the criminal offenses were found and temporarily seized.

By order of the cantonal prosecutor, A.M. and Š.A. were detained and after criminal processing, they will be handed over today, along with a report and evidence, to the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuzla Canton for further legal proceedings.

Further investigation is underway in cooperation with the competent police authorities in order to document all criminal offenses that the suspects are charged with.
