The number of victims of the fire at the Tuzla Retirement Home has risen to 17. In the past 24 hours, two persons living in the Retirement Home who were hospitalized at the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation after the fire, have died, the Tuzla University Clinical Center announced this morning. The Tuzla Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office announced that autopsies of the deceased women will be performed during the day.

Two more patients were hospitalized at the Clinic for Internal Diseases.

We would like to remind you that, according to the findings of electrical and fire protection experts, the fire occurred as a result of a short circuit in the conductors of the radio receiver’s connecting cable.

However, the investigation will be extensive and detailed, the Tuzla Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office announced. All circumstances surrounding the fire are being investigated, as well as the responsibility and omissions in the work of those responsible at the Tuzla Retirement Home.

Today, the Tuzla Cantonal Assembly will also consider information about this tragic event. Information about the exploitation of minors for the purpose of prostitution will also be considered at the session.
