U.S. Embassy’s BiH Hero for the month of January is Aida Sejdic Melezovic, a beloved high school teacher and a true activist in every possible sense of the word. Working together with Italian and local doctors, she helped 72 children from Bosnia and Herzegovina receive medical treatment and undergo heart surgery in Italy free of charge and has organized numerous campaigns to help the most vulnerable groups in her community.
Ms. Sejdic Melezovic has dedicated her life to demonstrate the importance of civic engagement and has served as an inspiration for generations of students.
