Today, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podzic and Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff for Operations of the Armed Forces of BiH Major General Ivica Jerkic received a group of members of the British Parliament, led by the British Ambassador to BiH H.E. Matt Field.
The British Parliament delegation included Fleur Anderson, Bob Stewart, Jackie Doyle Price, Karen Anne Bradley, Martin Wickers, Tony Lloyd, Alyn Smith and David Doogan.
At the meeting held at the House of the AF BiH in Sarajevo, the interlocutors discussed the support provided by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Armed Forces. British parliamentarians were also interested in the political and security aspects of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the whole of Europe, and the impact of the war in Ukraine.
Minister Podzic thanked the British parliamentarians for the significant support provided by the British Embassy in BiH through various projects for many years. He pointed out that such support is especially important in the situation of various political blockades in the work of government institutions and the period of temporary financing, when all capital investments for the AF BiH are disabled.
On behalf of the visiting delegation, Labor MP Tony Lloyd stressed that BiH is vital to the United Kingdom. He emphasized that the United Kingdom, as a sincere friend, would continue to support Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic path.
