Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda signed today with UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Ingrid Macdonald a Joint Infrastructure Strengthening Program for Financing Sustainable Development Goals worth about 1.3 million dollars.

In 2015, Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with other UN member states, adopted the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, which contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (CoR), which are aimed at eradicating poverty, combating inequality and injustice, and addressing climate change.

The purpose of the Joint Program is to intensify investment in sustainable development by launching a broad dialogue and supporting the authorities at all levels in BiH in order to establish the basic elements of the “ecosystem” for CoR financing.

He added that the implementation of the Joint Program will be financed from the approved funds of the UN Joint Fund for CoR and the funds of the United Nations Agencies.

The total value of the program is 1,291,861 dollars, of which 999,861 will be financed from the funds approved by the Joint CoR Fund, and another 292,000 from the funds of UN agencies, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH announced.
