UN: At Least 798 Palestinians Killed At GHF Aid Delivery Points

The United Nations (UN) Human Rights Office on Friday announced that it had recorded at least 798 killings at aid sites operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is supported by the United States (U.S.) and Israel, and near humanitarian convoys led by other aid groups, including the UN.

GHF uses private U.S. security and logistics firms to deliver supplies in Gaza, largely bypassing the UN-run system, which Israel claims has allowed Hamas to divert aid.

The UN has called the plan “inherently unsafe” and a violation of the principles of humanitarian impartiality.

“As of July 7th, we have recorded 798 killings, including 615 near GHF locations and 183 likely on aid convoy routes,” the UN Human Rights Office Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani told reporters in Geneva.

GHF began distributing food packages in Gaza at the end of May and has repeatedly denied that incidents occurred at its locations.
