UN in BiH Supports Campaign “One Billion Rising”

The UN Resident Coordinator to BiH Yuri Afanasiev will, together with a number of national and international organizations, politicians and activists stand up and dance in the struggle to end violence against women and girls in front of BBI center tomorrow.

On the 15th anniversary of V-Day, which is celebrated every year on 14 February, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls launched the global activist campaign “One Billion Rising”.

Over a billion people throughout the world will stand up and dance and demand that all forms of violence against women and girls cease.

Until now, thousands of activists and organizations throughout the world became involved in the campaign “One Billion Rising”, among which are the UN and BiH.

In 34 cities throughout BiH, among which is Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Travnik, Brčko, Visoko, Doboj, Tuzla, Zenica and many others, citizens will be out in the squares and streets to participate in this global campaign.
