Construction of a modern library, which is highly necessary and whose construction has been long expected, is soon to begin at the eastern side of the campus of the University of Sarajevo, not far from the Embassy of the USA.
Construction of the University Library will be financed by the Saudi Fund for Development with nearly 34 million BAM. This is a long-planned project whose conceptual design was made by experts from the Faculty of Architecure in Sarajevo.
As confirmed by the professor Amir Pašić, coordinator of the team for implementation of project of construction and equipping of the library, construction will be executed in stages and tenders will be announced accordingly.
University of Sarajevo has therefore announced an international tender for bids for consultancy services for execution of the project of construction and equipping of the University Library in Sarajevo.
The new University Library will cover around 15.000 square meters. Expected timeframe for completion of the project is six months from the beginning of construction.
“Facility where the University Library will be situated consists of two basement levels, ground floor and two floors. The library is comprised of a congress hall, storage room for books, library with reading rooms, multimedia center, administration room, restaurant, and other amenities,” the University of Sarajevo stated.
