The head of the State Department, Antony Blinken, issued a statement today stating that this American institution today imposed sanctions on the former president of the HJPC, Milan Tegeltija, and the president of the PDA, Mirsad Kukić.
According to the State Department, Tegeltija and Kukic were sanctioned for involvement in significant corruption. Such a decision implies, first of all, a ban on entering the United States.

“Their actions threaten the rule of law, the public’s faith in democratic institutions and authorities, and peace and prosperity for the citizens of BiH,” it said.

It is also alleged that Tegeltija, as president of the HJPC, was involved in corrupt practices involving the use of political influence and official power for his own benefit.

“Namely, there is credible information that Tegeltija used his position to seek benefits in exchange for interfering in the court process, as well as manipulating the appointment of judges and other public affairs,” it said.

In addition to Milan Tegeltija, his wife Tijana Tegeltija also ended up on the list of those sanctioned, and she was also banned from entering the United States.

In the context of sanctioning Mirsad Kukić, the State Department stated that Kukić was involved in corrupt activities related to the operation of the mine in Banovići.

“As the director of the mine, Kukić was involved in corrupt acts through which he used his political influence and official power for personal gain. Namely, there is credible information that Kukić misappropriated public funds for personal gain and interfered in employment and appointment decisions. in order to gain political benefit, “the State Department said.
