The White House on Thursday rejected the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
“The United States fundamentally rejects the Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials. We remain deeply concerned about the prosecutor’s haste to seek the arrest warrants and the troubling procedural flaws that led to this decision,” a White House National Security Council spokesman told AA.
He added that the United States had been clear that the ICC “does not have jurisdiction over this matter.”
“In coordination with partners, including Israel, we are discussing next steps,” he added.
