The United States welcomed today’s decision by High Representative Christian Schmidt to defend the Dayton Peace Agreement and protect Bosnia and Herzegovina’s judicial and state-level rule of law institutions by prohibiting the implementation of the conclusions adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska at its 16th special session on December 24 and 25.
The United States supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its continued progress on the path toward Euro-Atlantic integration, according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in BiH.
