USAID presented a Guide for new Communication Tools with the Diaspora

USAID’s “Diaspora Invest” project presented today new mechanisms for strengthening the connection of local communities with the Bosnian diaspora, the project’s implementers announced.

The guide for local self-government units entitled “New tools of communication in the modern age” will serve the employees of municipalities and cities that cooperate with the diaspora.

“This initiative is a reflection of the growing need to adapt to communication trends in the digital age. With the accelerated pace of technological progress, traditional methods of communication are becoming obsolete, which is a constant challenge for local self-government units. The guide was created with the aim of providing local communities with concrete guidelines and tools to effectively communicate and connect with the diaspora that is increasingly scattered around the world. Given that many members of the diaspora often have a strong desire to contribute to their homeland, whether through investments, tourism or return, this guide serves as a bridge to realizing those potentials,” said Armin Alijagić from the BH Business Center diaspora.

Local self-government units are the first point of contact for many members of the diaspora who want to reconnect with their homeland. Therefore, updating their communication methods is essential.

The digital era brings tools that enable fast, transparent and two-way communication. With applications, communication automation, social media and a web platform, local self-government units can now achieve far greater reach and interaction.

In addition to enabling direct communication, digitization also provides an opportunity for data analysis. Local self-government units can now monitor the engagement, interests and needs of the diaspora in real time, allowing them to adjust their strategies and offers according to that information, Alijagić concluded, Fena reports.
