High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko met today with the general director of BiH Intelligence and Security Agency Almir Džuvo in the centre of the Agency in Sarajevo.

Inzko said that he’s satisfied with the progress of the agency.

BiH Intelligence and Security Agency was formed after the reform of intelligence agencies in BiH, which introduced modern standards into the intelligence sector, including democratic control. This reform was a major breakthrough for BiH and its citizens.

‘Despite the numerous challenges and sensitive issues, the reform of intelligence sector is still a success’, said the High Representative Inzko.

BiH Intelligence and Security is closely cooperating with great number of regional and international partners in relation to numerous key issues, including the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

Inzko also noted the fact that the cooperation between those who work in the field of security of BiH is at high level.

‘Information that this agency collects must be used efficiently as possible. The authorities must continue to develop successful approach that implies inclusion of more agencies, including OSA and SIPA, and police and PO, in order to fight crime efficiently, and help the reduction of safety threat to citizens of BiH and region’, said Inzko.
