The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska continued its regular session today with a parliamentary debate on the consolidated report on the implementation of the budget of the Republika Srpska for last year.
Vidović said that this will not happen despite the stories of individuals from Republika Srpska about it, reports RTRS.
“Republika Srpska will never go bankrupt,” said Vidović in her closing speech.
She stated that this year the Republika Srpska is borrowing exactly as much as it will pay off the debt.
“The debt is not increasing either nominally or in relation to GDP,” said Vidović.
She emphasized that the total debt at the end of last year was 44.6 percent of GDP, and the public debt was 37.5 percent of GDP, which is far less compared to the periods when representatives of the current opposition were in power.
Vidović said that last year’s revenues of the Republika Srpska were about 350 million BAM higher than planned, but that the RS directed 628 million BAM towards the economy, agriculture and the population through salaries, pensions, veterans’ allowances, one-time benefits…
“This is known to everyone and is stated in the report we are considering. Also, I would say that the average deficit when it comes to EU countries is 3.6 percent of GDP, and we have 3.28 percent. And in 2005, the deficit was 6 4 percent of GDP,” Vidović reminded.
She explained that the funds from the “escrow account” are not expenses, but that part of the funds from it were invested in all municipalities in the Republika Srpska, where projects were carried out.
She said that the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska was created to help the economy, and that is why it places funds at low interest rates.
She pointed out that only last year the total investments in Herzegovina were 11.3 million.
Vidović added that 26 million BAM were invested in Bijeljina from 2018 to 2023, and will continue to be.
Vidović said that Elektroprivreda is not at a loss, but, as she says, is positive by 50 million BAM.
She added that incentives for wheat will be paid at the beginning of July.
