5-amazing-countries-bosnia-visegradVisegrad is one of eight cities that were listed in the first rank of the mapped tourist destination of the RS last summer. This was supported by the fact that a growing number of tourist visited Visegrad. Thus, more than 200,000 visits were recorded in 2016, as well as increased number of overnight stays in comparison to 2015.

Considering the clearly defined tourist offer, the impact on the economy as well as the payment of tourist tax, in recent years Visegrad has become one of the biggest hopes of tourism development of the RS. Therefore, their expectations in regard the upcoming tourist season are very high.

“During the summer, there are interesting events happening almost every day in Andricgrad, such as fairs, exhibitions, concerts… It transforms into a real art colony that attracts tourists,” said the Director of the Tourist Organization of Visegrad, Olivera Todorovic.

“A new luxury hotel was built in Andricgrad as well. Now they are working on its furnishing and it will be a four-star hotel with the view on the bridge. It will have the characteristic 11 arches as well,” said Todorovic.

“Besides the cruise, hunting and fishing tourism as well as the proximity of Tara River, Visegrad wants to strengthen the sector of health tourism, for which was showed great interest on foreign fairs. The spa and hotel Vilina Vlas are full during the whole year,” stated Todorovic.

Todorovic stated that they will work more in order for Visegrad not to be only a one-time station for tourists, but to attract them to stay longer. That is the reason why they are trying to enrich their offer and contents and introduce new services since they have that potential. The fact that more than 200,000 people came in Visegrad last year, gives a basis to the tourism workers to keep these tourists and achieve an even greater number of overnight stays.

To recall, Visegrad won the title of champion of cultural tourism of the Mediterranean and Southeast Europe for 2015.
