Vucic: Flying Cars to Take Off in Serbia by 2027

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has said that the country’s goal is to start using flying cars in 2027.

He said that he had discussed this with representatives of the Archer company on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.

Vučić told Serbian media that the Archer company is “one of the most famous companies dealing with flying cars, unmanned aircraft and flying trains”.

“We have started to negotiate the purchase of at least three aircraft, and we are also talking to our Chinese friends, who have already developed a lot and have flying cars in several cities. We will rush to try to complete everything related to preparations and regulations by mid-2026, so that we can drive flying cars in 2027,” Vučić said.

He said that Serbia wants to show “that it is the fastest modernizing and fastest growing country in Europe” at the international specialized exhibition Expo 2027, which it is hosting.

“We have already signed a memorandum of understanding with Archer and made an agreement for Expo 2027. I was interested in whether the machine could be endangered if a flock of birds came by. It really can’t and it is much safer than a helicopter,” Vučić added.

On the occasion of Donald Trump’s inauguration today, whose inauguration he did not attend, Vučić said that three things would characterize his rule – the fight against the “deep state” in the US in order to save as much money as possible for his projects, reducing the trade deficit with Canada, the EU and China, and trying to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine.

“Trump correctly sees that energy is what will carry the world in the next 20 years, and there will be many problems. Energy and food, even water, will be key things in the next 20 years. Will we manage to catch up with the pace imposed by the US and China, that is very difficult,” Vučić said.

Vučić stated that the US has the largest trade deficit with Canada, followed by the EU and China.

“He will have to make some kind of deal with China, I think he will look to minimize the importance of the European Commission and European institutions. I can’t say I’m happy about that. And then he will look at how to establish relations with EU members and thereby demonstrate American strength and reduce the deficit,” Vučić said.

He pointed out that Trump “looks at things rationally and logically” and asks why he would militarily protect the EU, while it earns so much from trade with the US.

“I wouldn’t bet on whether that’s good for us,” Vučić added, Klix.ba writes.
