President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated yesterday that there are significant and challenging tasks ahead of Milos Vucevic, whom he appointed as the prime minister-designate and whom he expects to receive support from in the Assembly, as well as ahead of the new government.
“We are in a specific position because we are the only ones in a neutral military status in this part of the region. We are always ready to defend ourselves, but we do not threaten anyone,” Vucic said during a visit to members of the Serbian Armed Forces at the military air base in Batajnica.
He announced the procurement of new fighter jets, as well as artillery pieces and multiple rocket launchers.
Vucic stated that more investment is being made in the army than ever before and announced that the action of domestically produced drones will be demonstrated at the training ground in Pester on April 20th.
Prime Minister-designate Vucevic said that the army will have maximum support in the new government, together with Vucic, emphasizing that the army is a guarantor of the survival of sovereign and independent Serbia.
President of the Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, who was also present, stated that a powerful Serbia represents security even for the Serbs in RS, which is “looking towards Serbia.”
