Vuksic: “Those who are ready to End Conflicts are more powerful than those who cause them”

Many have the power to start conflicts, but Jesus says on this day that the most powerful are those who are ready to end them, said Archbishop Tomo Vukšić of Vrhbosna, who led the Easter mass in the Cathedral of the Heart of Jesus in Sarajevo. You could follow the Easter Mass in Sarajevo live on the BHRT program.

In his Easter sermon, Vukšić pointed out to the faithful that it is true that many have the power to incite violence, but that, in contrast, Jesus’ teaching is that those who preserve and build peace and preserve life are much more powerful than them.

Stating that the first words of Jesus after appearing to his disciples after the resurrection were “Peace be with you!”, Vukšić said that with this Jesus wished for peace that is first in the service of life, and then in the service of every human progress, security, satisfaction and joy.

“Peace is even the basic premise of all of this,” emphasized the archbishop of Vrhbosan.

Vukšić said that apart from dozens of wars that are being fought in the world, there are other attacks on human lives and dignity.

“They are all against Jesus’ rule of love and are not in accordance with the teachings of the Church on the right of every human being to life and dignity,” Vukšić pointed out and said that Jesus rewards those who protect life and peace and condemns those who endanger the world, threaten and sow fear.

Apart from the cathedral, Easter masses were also held in other Catholic churches in Sarajevo, as well as throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
