The War Childhood Museum will mark its ninth anniversary with a week of activities from April 13 to 17, including workshops, educational programs and public talks with international guests.

As the Museum points out, the anniversary comes after a year in which they significantly expanded their work, both through the growth of the collection and through the development of peace and educational programs.

As part of the central program, on Tuesday, researchers from Palestine and Ukraine will join the Museum in Sarajevo to present how new objects from current conflicts continue to enter the collection. Their participation will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand more about the process of documenting childhood in war.

The museum will also host guests from the Netherlands, South Africa and Portugal, with whom they will discuss international development and future collaborations. At the same time, children and youth from Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate in the presentation of the Museum’s peace program, which is currently being implemented in more than 50 communities across the country.

In addition to talks and presentations, the program includes a series of workshops and educational activities for different ages, including peacebuilding workshops for high school students, educational activities for children and youth with visual impairments, an international peacebuilding workshop, workshops with peer educators, and creative workshops for preschool children.

The program will be held daily at the Museum (Logavina Street 32) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with individual activities spread throughout the week.

The central event will be organized on Tuesday, April 14, at the Meeting Point Cinema at 7 p.m.

The Museum invites all visitors to join in marking the anniversary and view the museum’s collection for free, which continuously documents and preserves childhood experiences in war.

Admission to the Museum will be free throughout the week, the Museum of War Childhood announced.
