What is concluded on the Meeting of BiH’s Foreign Minister with his Lebanese Counterpart?

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak is staying in an official visit to Lebanon on January 16thand 17th.

Crnadak met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Lebanese Republic Gebran Bassil.

At the meeting, interlocutors discussed the development and improvement of relations between the two countries, economic cooperation, and issues of international significance.

Crnadak stressed the interest of BiH for Lebanese investments here and that BiH’s position enables Lebanon economists and investors to access the European market.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Lebanese side is interested in the capacities that BiH has regarding metals and wood industry and for the possibility of exporting food products, especially nuts and olive oil to the BiH market.

Minister Crnadak also stressed that there is a possibility for tourism development, and he highlighted the increase of tourist arrivals from Lebanon to BiH, especially the pilgrims in Medjugorje, and to Olympic Center Jahorina.

Interlocutors of two countries initiated talks on the possibilities of signing a visa abolition agreement for holders of diplomatic passports, as well as for ordinary passport holders. The topics of discussion were also issues of security and the fight against terrorism, the situation in the Middle East, and North Africa.

Minister Crnadak urged Minister Bassil to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of the year, along with representatives of the business community, and to hold a Business forum devoted to improving the economic relations between Lebanon and BiH.
