What is the Number of Unemployed in BiH?

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, 350,316 unemployed persons were registered in August, which is 2.8 percent less compared to August last year.

Of the total number of unemployed in August, 205,634 were women, and this number is 0.1 percent higher than in July, and 1.8 percent lower than last August, the BiH Statistics Agency announced.

In August, the largest number of unemployed persons were highly qualified and qualified workers, 109,807 of them, followed by 100,491 unqualified persons, and 97,974 with secondary education.

The lowest number of unemployed are semi-skilled persons – 5,314, followed by those with higher education, 5,842 of them.

In the female population, the largest number of unemployed is with secondary education – 63,982, followed by unqualified 59,914, while 52,676 unemployed women are in the group of highly qualified and qualified workers.

In August, the number of employed persons in BiH was 843,876, of which 378,462 were women.

Compared to July, the number of employed persons decreased by 0.5 percent, and the number of employed women by 0.7 percent.
