What is the Number of Unemployed Persons in BiH?

Until August 31st this year, there were 406,848 persons on the records of employment services and employment services in BiH, according to the BiH’s Labor and Employment Agency.

Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 361 persons or 0.06 percent. Of the total number of job seekers, 233,146 or 57.31 percent are women.

Unemployment increased in the Federation by 965 people (0.31 percent), while it decreased in Republika Srpska by 1,070 people (1.20 percent) and in the Brcko District of BiH by 156 people (2.06 percent).

The highest number of registered unemployment is made up of persons with the third level of education 31.45 percent, and workers with high school 28.17 percent.

In August, a total of 16,381 people were deleted from the employment service records. Of this number, 9,287 people are employed.

At the same time, 10,583 people quit their jobs, while employers reported 5,352 new workers in the employment period.

According to the BiH Statistics Agency, in July 2019, the number of employed persons in BiH was 821,791, of which 351,714 were women.

Compared to June 2019, the number of employed persons increased by 0.1 percent and the number of employed women decreased by 0.2 percent.
