employment serviceEven though the number of unemployed persons in the Canton Sarajevo was increased this year, the Employment Services announced new programs in the New Year with optimism, highlighting that the necessary conditions for successful work were created for the first time.

Unemployment data was published at yesterday’s press conference, which are showing that from the 72,545 registered unemployed persons, the largest part or 60 %, are women, and young people under 35 years old, which make 43 %.

Director of the Service Igor Kamocaji said that the new program is the way to reduce this number, and among the most promising are programs of retraining or additional training, according to the needs of known employers.

As he emphasized that this program will offer perspective to elderly persons to gain new skills and become more competitive on the labor market.

He added that almost 14,053 people were successfully employed in the Canton, and that the first work program and financial plan of the Service that was adopted at time, is giving a hope for a more successful year.

According to him, a total of 6,548,854 BAM was planned for employment of at least 2,270 people in the next year.

One of the most interesting plans of the Service for the next year is the Program of counseling of unemployed persons.

“Citizens will have right on free counseling by an expert who will assist them in discovering their skills, thus increasing their confidence and competitiveness on the labor market,” explained Kamocaji.
