When will Bosnia receive the Safe Travel Country Label?

The Federal government has accepted the document “Guidelines and Protocols for Health Care from COVID 19 in Tourism”, and submitted it to the BiH Council of Ministers for consideration in order for BiH to receive the safe travel country label from the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC).

The information states that this document was submitted to the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the relevant ministry announced.

The guidelines set out the principles to be followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina in carrying out tourism activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as protocols for tourism and hospitality entities, and their purpose is to protect tourists and the workforce while respecting health regulations and measures to limit physical contact.

Such measures should be flexible, adapted to the local health situation and would enable the gradual launch and revitalization of different segments of the tourism sector. By accepting guidelines and protocols related to tourism, BiH will receive the hashtag #SafeTravels (safe travel), WTTC, and would join the list of more than 40 countries that have this label.

This would mark Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country that has an accepted world protocol, travel to our country safely, and by opening the borders, and this mark and other joint measures, we would attract more guests. This is extremely important for the private sector in tourism and hospitality, which is particularly economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
