Which BiH Municipality managed to decrease Unemployment by 31 Percent in one Year?

At the end of September this year, there were 6.626 employees in the municipality of Derventa, which is 3.74 percent more than in the same period last year, and most workers earned their salaries in the processing industry and trade.

590 people were registered in the unemployment register, which is 31 percent or 269 less unemployed compared to the same period last year.

These are the data of the Tax Administration and the Employment Bureau of Republika Srpska (RS), which are listed in the Information on employment in the city, the number, and structure of unemployed, as well as the necessary staff for city development, which was adopted at the last session of the City Assembly.

As it was emphasized in the information, the economy still needs qualified shoemakers, but also metalworkers of various profiles, as well as construction workers.

Information processed by the Department of Economy and Social Affairs showed that more than 44 percent of all employees work in the manufacturing industry, about 20 percent in trade and repair of motor vehicles, while when it comes to the structure of employees the third most represented are employees in education, health and social work, which make up almost 11 percent of all employees.

When it comes to the structure of the unemployed people, the data of the Employment Bureau in Derventa show that as of September 30th this year, there were 590 people on the records, which is 31 percent or 269 less unemployed compared to the same period last year.

Looking at the age structure of the unemployed, a third of them belong to the age category of 30 to 50 years.

Also, in Derventa, as of September 30th this year, 542 active entrepreneurs were registered, who employed 1.060 workers.
