“Bentbasa cliff diving 2019” jumps was held for the fifth time on Saturday at Bentbasa on Miljacka River.
A total of nineteen participants from four countries – Serbia, Slovenia, USA and Bosnia and Herzegovina – competed in two disciplines – traditional “lasta” and figurative high diving.
Participants jumped from a makeshift platform 18.5 m high, and the depth of the Miljacka River below the dam was between 3.5 and 4 meters.
The first place in lasta competition was won by Dragan Milinovic from Serbia the second was Sanjin Zejnilagic from Sarajevo, and the third was Danko Dangubic from Konjic.
In the figurative jumps – high diving, the best was American Laura Rose Dauffenbach, the second was Marko Pavlovic from Serbia, and the third was Slovenian Ales Karnicnik.
In addition to many numerous competitors, three-time Red Bull Cliff Diving Champion, gold medalist from the recently held World Cup in South Korea and currently leading in the 2019 overall ranking, Rhiannan Iffland from Australia, and Red Bull Cliff Diving World Champion from 2017, bronze medal winner at the World Cup in South Korea, winner of the first Red Bull Cliff Diving competition in Mostar and currently runner-up, Mexican Jonathan Paredes also participated.
