On the social network Reddit, an interesting map appeared that reveals what Google suggests when users type the phrase “Why is (country) so…”. The automatic completion of the search brought a series of different answers for each country, and some attracted particular public attention.

For Germany, the continuation “rich” most often appears, while for France, the offered one is “popular.” These answers follow the usual perceptions of the economic and cultural power of these countries.

In the Balkans, the results are specific. Croatia, according to Google, is “expensive,” and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is “poor.” Precisely these answers caused a series of comments and discussions among users.

Serbia, according to the same map, is marked as “pro-Russian.” When it comes to Kosovo, Google offers the answer to the question “why is it so important to Serbia?”
