Auction for 45.49 percent of state capital in Sarajevo Insurance will be held today on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange. As a reminder, 2.108.469 shares at the price of 12.99 BAM per share are on sale. The only option available is to purchase the total number of the shares on sale, so the price for the package of shares is around 27 million BAM.
According to speculations in the media, interest in the purchase of the package of shares is great and several insurance companies from the country and the region compete to take over Sarajevo Insurance, along with the primacy on the insurance market in BiH.
The main candidate is ASA insurance, a domestic insurance company. Officials of ASA Group, which owns the ASA insurance, do not hide their desire to take over Sarajevo Insurance, but the price poses a little problem for them. According to the company, they are not willing to take over Sarajevo Insurance at the offered price of 12.99 BAM per share. They believe that the price is too high.
The second candidate for the purchase is Triglav insurance from Slovenia, and also mentioned is another Slovenian insurance company, Sava Re.
The current price of one share of Sarajevo Insurance on the stock exchange is around nine BAM. Sarajevo Insurance entered this year with the price of six BAM per share, but immediately after the auction was scheduled the price of one share of this insurance company jumped by 60 percent and in the past several days it got stabilized at the amount of nine BAM.
