The police from Bugojno are conducting an investigation at the place where the body of a newborn baby was found in a container in Sultanahmedova street, just before 12:00 today.

The body was found by workers of a local utility company, said Hasan Hodžić, spokesman for the police commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Central Bosnia Canton.

“Around 11:25 a.m., the workers of the Bugojno utility company reported to the Bugojno Police Station that they had found the lifeless body of a newborn in a container in Sultanahmedova Street. Immediately after receiving the report, police officers went to investigate and are conducting an investigation in cooperation with the competent Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in Travnik.” Hodzic said.

A similar case happened in September 2021, when the lifeless body of a newborn was also found near the Vrba bridge in Bugojno. Let us remind you that the results of the autopsy showed that the baby was born alive and that she died as a result of drowning, and the investigators treated the case as a murder.
