Yearlong Tourism Project for Mountains in BiH and Montenegro

The Directors of KJP ZOI ’84 Salko Hasanefendić and Ševkija Okerić from the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency (SERDA) signed an Agreement today with the goal to realize the project that is financed by the European Union “Yearlong Tourism for Mountains in BiH and Montenegro”.

The objective of that project is the revival of mountain tourist centers of Bjelašnica and Igman in BiH and Bjelasice and Prokletija in Montenegro.

The project was approved as part of cross-border cooperation between BiH and Montenegro, whose leading partners from BiH SREDA and local partner JKP ZOI ’84, while the partners from Montenegro are the Regional Development Agency “Bjelasica, Komovi and Prokletije” and Mojkovac municipality.

The results to be achieved by the project are: newly developed and enhanced existing tourist offers, established and improved tourism infrastructure for the development of summer tourism in BiH and Montenegro, capacity of local citizens and tourism service providers involved in tourist offers, creation and promotion of new cross-border travel products and increased capacity of regional development agencies and local partners.

The total value of the project is 437.640 euros, from which the EU financed 369.881 euros or 84.19 percent, while the partners in the project finance the remaining amount of 69.4558 or 15.81 percent.

The realization of this project will last 18 months.
