The training “It’s cool when you’re young and you breathe clean air” where young people are trained to carry out environmental advocacy campaigns was held on November 24 in Kakanj and November 26 in Bijeljina. The INFOHOUSE Foundation carried out this activity as part of the UNICEF project “Engagement of youth to improve air quality in the Western Balkans”.

“Our goal is for young people to learn at these trainings about the importance of clean air and the ways in which they can best or most effectively contribute to improving air quality, in this case in Kakanj and Bijeljina, primarily by having experts from the environmental domain train them on how to lead advocacy campaigns which they will be able to apply even after the training,” said project coordinator Adin Šabić, INFOHOUSE Foundation.

The training participants were led by experts from the Center for Ecology and Energy Tuzla, Džemila Agić and Vanja Rizvić, who have many years of experience in creating and running advocacy campaigns.

Young people did not lack desire and enthusiasm to participate in training.

In the coming period, young people will attend online training where they will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge of media advocacy. After that, they will be awarded funds worth EUR 3,000 to launch a total of six advocacy campaigns. Three will be realized in Kakanj, while the remaining three will be realized in Bijeljina, INFOHOUSE announced.
