12804540_1117695414948080_25152394_nThe Yu All-Star match was held in Skenderija, Sarajevo on May 7, 1991. The best basketball players of the former state arrived to the city under Trebević in order to make a spectacle. That was the first and the only All-Star match of the Yugoslav championship.

This review match remained special in many respects. They say that life is not measured by the number of breaths, but the number of moments that took our breath away. On that morning in May, the city was in trance. Hours before the match, the filled bleachers in Skenderija twined under the force of the fans, while the roar environed the building surrounding the hall. Atmosphere was breathtaking. Lovers of the magical game under the hoop came to see Kukoč, Đorđević, Cvjetićanin, Komazec, Paspalj…

Večernje novine organized this spectacle. White shirts were worn by Đorđević, Bukva, Komazec, Tabak, Bacalja, Pecarski, Danilović, Jovanović, Kukoč, Nakić, Sretenović and Čutura.

Wearing red shirts were Mitrović, Avdić, Radulović, Zdovc, Cvjetićanin, Savić, Paspalj, Knego, Marić, Obradović, Primorac and Perasović.

Although the result was in the background, the Whites ended celebrating with a result of 125:114. They were led by the amazing Toni Kukoč. When the basketball player went out onto the parquet in Skenderija, they were welcomed with a thunderous applause. Great euphoria could be felt in the air. Around seven thousand spectators rewarded every move.

Although the political situation at the time was not exactly the best, it seems that on that night basketball overruled every danger hanging over the city. Sarajevo, as the symbol of the basketball All-Star brotherhood and unity, passed another tough exam in grand style.
