Member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Denis Zvizdic met onTuesday with the Head of the Council of Europe Office in BiH Bojana Urumova and discussed the current political situation in the country and the continuation of mutual cooperation.
For his part, Zvizdic noted that the Council of Europe has a significant role in the development of democracy in BiH, respect for human rights and freedoms and strengthening the country’s international position in the world.
Also, he expressed appreciation for the constant interest of the Council of Europe for the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and emphasized the successful presidency of BiH in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in 2015.
Zvizdic expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Bosnian parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has been functioning again since the beginning of 2020 and that cooperation between the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and the Council of Europe would improve in the coming period.
Both interlocutors discussed the need to organize programs that will be focused on education as an important aspect in promoting key values, as well as programs based on tolerance, solidarity and exchange of experiences.
Zvizdic reiterated that BiH is committed to European integration, strengthening the economy and the rule of law, expressing hope that BiH will continue to meet the conditions on its European path in the coming period.
