Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, sent a telegram of condolence to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, on the occasion of the devastating earthquake that hit the southeast of Turkey early this morning.

“It is with great sadness that I received the news about the tragedy caused by the earthquake in your country in which hundreds of your citizens died. Please let me express my most sincere condolences to you and to the families of those who died, and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured citizens. My thoughts are with you and your citizens,” it is stated in the condolence telegram from Zvizdić, announced the Press Service of the BiH PA.

A devastating earthquake has struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, killing more than 1,300 people in a 40-second-long tremor that was felt as far as Lebanon and Cyprus.

Rescue teams on Monday were racing to find survivors trapped under tangles of metal and chunks of concrete in cities and towns across the two countries.
