Zvizdic: Transport Union is an important Step for us, important to gain access to the Funds

After the Council of Ministers adopted the Agreement by which Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) joins the Transport Union, and therefore de-blocks funds for projects which were approved in July in Trieste, the chairman of the Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic addressed the public.

“At the session, several important documents were adopted, the most important of which was adopting the agreement regarding the Transport Union. In that sense, we became a part of an important project between the European Union and southeast Europe. We also de-blocked important funds for projects which were adopted in Trieste. This is very important for the entire BiH, which will develop our transport industry. We’ve already decided how BiH will be represented in the Transport Union and it’s in the best way to get our interests represented,” Zvizdic said.

He added how the agreement will be signed right after the Presidency of BiH accepts it and when an agreement with the European Commission is reached.

Besides that, he talked about changing the law regarding the Ombudsman in BiH, as well as visas, which will help with the economy, namely tourism.

“The group of countries with which BiH has a no-visa regime expands and more people will be able to come to BiH without needing a visa,” Zvizdic said.

2.1 million BAM was allocated to public health, employment and housing for Roma in BiH.

“As was already announced, we got a letter from commissioner Hahn in which everything that BiH loses by not signing the agreement was explain. The state ministry wishes to prepare new projects with the entity ministries, so we could maximally use this very important opportunity,” Ismar Jusko, the minister for communications and traffic, said.

Minister Jusko added that the construction of the Peljesac bridge was discussed today. It is everyone’s wish to maintain friendly relations with Croatia but not at the expense of sacrificing BiH interests.
