10th Birthday of Race for the Cure on Wilson’s Promenade

“Race for the cure”, the very well-known event to citizens of Sarajevo, celebrates its 10th birthday this year, on October 7, 2017, on Wilson’s Promenade in Sarajevo.

Organizers of this positive gathering are preparing numerous contents for all of those who come to support women and celebrate life. Participators of all ages will enjoy in life-affirming activities such as yoga, zumba, and dance.

Race/walk for the cure is a unique event whose main aim is to gather as many citizens as possible and thus show the power of community in the fight against this malicious disease that still represents a taboo topic for many people. Therefore, people who survived this disease gather every year at the same place together with their friends, families, citizens, teams of students, celebrities and they together, as one, send a positive message of support to all women in our country.

Registrations are taking place at the moment in cities all across our country. During registration, participants will get branded shirt of race/walk as a gift and a right to participate in this unique event.

All funds collected from registration will be spent on buying gift boxes for every newly operated woman in BiH, as well as free mammographic examinations in rural parts of the country.

JDC/Komen “Race for the cure” is held in BiH since 2008, with the aim of empowerment of women’s health in the fight against breast cancer.

“Race for the cure” is taking place in more than 150 cities all around the world, where several millions of people walk/run for improvement of the health of women every year.
