Germany written off debt to BiH in amount of 12 Million EUR

Germany Wrote Off Debt of B&H faktor.baThe German federal government has written off debt to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in amount of 12.8 million euros. The requirements for the debt relief were for the Government of the FBiH to denaturalize the area of the minefields near Mostar and the Government of Republika Srpska to invest 20 % in projects for water supply and waste water treatment in Kostajnica.

“After both entities have fulfilled these requirements, debt relief has been granted,” was stated from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ambassador Hohmann has welcomed the fact the financial cooperation between Germany and BiH will be fruitful in this way. Moreover, she said that 4,000 people in Republika Srpska benefit from the new and modern water supply and improved sewage system.

“In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the renaturalization of the mine area near Mostar. Germany will provide an important contribution to the protection of the environment,” is stated in the press release.

So far, the German government has made available about 800 million euros for projects in the field of financial cooperation in BiH.
